Album Review: Entombed A.D. - Back To The Front

As the clandestine shitstorm rages over which splinter group is the real Entombed, this 2013-scheduled release finally breaks out of the crypt.

Original vocalist Lars Goran Petrov and co. pump out the familiar EntombedTM death’n’roll heavy riffs but include overwrought, unconvincing vocals. With a backing plod that hardly breaks new ground, Back To The Front feels like it was a grind to make and makes for a grinding listen. This resurrected version of extreme metal’s former flagbearers sound like death not quite warmed up.
