A corny singalong to the Grease anthem You’re The One That I Want ends a sharp and highly entertaining show.

If you grew up watching a lot of Aussie TV in the 90s, Effie and her famous catchphrases of “How embarrassment” and “Hello, good thanks” aren't lost on you. In 2013, some of the stereotypical ethnic jokes are old, but Effie proves she still has a place in our hearts.

The premise is to find the Greek “goddess” love – opening with a ridiculously funny eHarmony video before the she struts on stage in her shimmering outfit, ready to nab a man from the audience. Tales of her previous, doomed relationships with men from numerous ethnic backgrounds, then why she has kept her virginity intact, Effie keeps the crowd in constant hysterics with her beloved accent, smart-arse wit and naïve love for herself. She brings three men up on stage, in faint hope of finding Mr Right. Two of them are gay, but that doesn't stop her from an improvised interrogation.
