Album Review: Ecca Vandal - End Of Time

StarStarStarStar

"...expectations are high for End Of Time, but she delivers in spades."

More Ecca Vandal Ecca Vandal

With such a formidable, irrepressible presence, it's an almighty surprise to find Ecca Vandal has only just dropped her first EP; it feels like the pop/punk-infused pocket rocket has been revving up the masses for far longer than the release of single White Flag in late 2014.

It's why expectations are high for End Of Time, but she delivers in spades. Singles Battle Royal and End Of Time bounce between rampant and sultry, Running At People Exiting's furious chorus stirs up mischief and Truth To Trade's buzzing rock is smooth and suave. If anything, Divided's more paced aesthetic just doesn't punch the right buttons as hard as the others do.
