"The record is filled with the good intentions of a 20-something reaching maturity."
As a member of Odd Future, Domo Genesis has seen his stock rise as that collective comes into prominence.
And musically, Genesis recalls the more soulful and jazzy side of Tyler, The Creator (without, of course, any of the biting sarcasm and apathy). On the contrary, Domo cares, and the record is filled with the good intentions of a 20-something reaching maturity. Not a breakthrough, but for an artist who titled his first release Rolling Papers, with lyrical content to match, he's come a long way.
