"They've finally come to our isolated little city to wow the crowds."

Hailing from Elcho Island, north-east Arnhem Land, the Djuki Mala troupe have their premiere season in Perth this year at Fringe.

Their unique fusion of traditional Yolngu dance and storytelling with contemporary pop-culture references was more than a little unexpected, but had the entire tent roaring with laughter and clapping along — all while successfully communicating intimate moments in the journey and formation of the group. Having toured all over the world, they've finally come to our isolated little city to wow the crowds and send the packed-out Spiegeltent into multiple standing ovations.
