Album Review: Cracked Actor -- Iconoclast

This debut long-player from Canberra outfit Cracked Actor makes no apologies for wearing its influences on its sleeve.

Whether it’s the angular guitar of highlight, Funerals, or relaxed groove of early single, Lemon On Your Lover, shades of Radiohead shine through. Having said that, these are terrific, original tunes immaculately produced and performed with ease. Vocalist Sebastian Field is the real hero here, his haunting yet tender voice as much at home in the poppier fields on the album as it is on its more abstract, ambient pieces.
