Album Review: Chrome Division - Infernal Rock Eternal

How do you succeed the raucous, shamelessly enjoyable Third Round Knockout? Norway's Chrome Division could have utilised the usual winning ingredients and churned out more of the exact same unbridled sleaze. Not entirely so, though.

Boasting Dimmu Borgir frontman Shagrath on guitar, their familiarly hedonistic biker metal ala Motörhead and Black Label Society apparent during No Bet For Free is meshed with a more substantial classic hard-rock bent. Less dirt under the fingernails, but The Absinthe Voyage and On The Run Again's sharpened melodies prove memorable winners.
