"The styles switch back and forth fairly abruptly, resulting in an album that feels uncertain and unfinished."

Papi Gordo isn't so much a fusion of EDM and trap as an attempt to please fans of both, feeling for the most part like a compromise rather than a desire to bridge the two genres.

The styles switch back and forth fairly abruptly, resulting in an album that feels uncertain and unfinished. Singles Bricks and I Like Tuh, featuring Migos and ILoveMakonnen respectively (both of whom are hilarious here as usual), go as hard as anything you've heard this year. They're also a promising middle ground between the two styles the album trades in, and offer Carnage's niche a way forward.
