"Ben Browning plays bass in Cut Copy and delivers a debut solo album of surprising quality."

Side projects are always a hit and miss affair. Lead singers tend to lapse into bombastic solipsism, guitarists lose sight of melody and drummers struggle to write lyrics.

Thankfully, bass players seem to have a handle on things. Ben Browning plays bass in Cut Copy and delivers a debut solo album of surprising quality. Featuring the rubbery bass lines of Friends Of Mine and the neon sounds of You Can Be There, Browning captures the joyous essence of euphoric dance music. Though occasionally sounding like Cut Copy Lite, Turns is destined for good times.
