Probably their finest moment to date, this is a cerebral yet brutal triumph.
Behemoth main man Nergal is nothing short of a force of nature. He's conquered cancer, achieved international success living in Poland and somehow successfully morphed his band from black metal purists to death metal maestros without losing his existing fanbase. The Satanist, Behemoth's tenth LP radiates with Nergal's inner strength. Although continuing on the tech death path of recent releases there's an undercurrent of bleak black metal here that gives tracks like Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer and Ben Sahar an almost regal and elegiac air. Probably their finest moment to date, this is a cerebral yet brutal triumph.
