There are moments of intrigue when the band open up musically

Over at The New Globe Theatre, a modest crowd (modest perhaps in part to the $9 basics) has gathered for Melbourne four piece Baptism of Uzi.

The band initially seem rather uninspiring as they make their way through a mix of prog, psych, prog-psych and prog-psych-punk. The sound takes a toll on the group with vocals sitting badly in the mix, which is not helped by the bands awkward stage presence.

There are moments of intrigue when the band open up musically, but ultimately, it kind of comes off as a band that formed checking out Led Zeppelin riff books at Allans Billy Hyde.
