His own songs charter similar territory and there are mentions of their relationship throughout the album. Highlights include Love Is, which takes a simple idea and makes an epic song out of it. Fall Apart is a standout and perhaps best showcases Cohen’s minimal approach and repetitive lyrics. Cohen makes a big story out of the small things in life.
