Woodford Folk Festival Implements Attendance Cap & More To Secure Future

With tickets going on sale this Wednesday, long-running Queensland event Woodford Folk Festival has unveiled new capacity limits and more to ensure its future.

After enjoying its biggest run yet last December, the New Year’s Eve festival said its future was “unclear” due to infrastructure issues with its Woodfordia venue.

Ticket sales will this year be capped to ensure the safety of festivalgoers and preserve the festival site, which also means a rise in ticket cost.

“The festival was the cleanest, most respectful, most energetic and beautiful that we’ve seen. Because of our growing popularity, we’ve had to make big changes,” director Bill Hauritz said.

“A lot of work is going into creating a deeper festival experience for our beloved patrons.”

Another change to the ticketing system sees passes only available via the Woodford Folk Festival website, while an on-the-ground change requires all vehicles have a purchased car pass due to a large number of cars now entering the site.

Early bird passes go on sale this Wednesday at midday via the festival’s website.
