The event will tour the nation this April
West Australian web personality, musician and actor Troye Sivan has been named as the headline act among the cabal of YouTube, Instagram, Vine, Tumblr, Snapchat and Facebook stars lined up to grace this year's Amplify festival, an annual celebration designed specifically for "the connected generation".
Joining Sivan at this year's Australian touring event will be US identity and co-headliner Connor Franta, Kiwi performer Jamie Curry, of Jamie's World, Kimmi Smiles, Tyde Levi, Jai Waetford, Shani Grimmond, Kurt Coleman and special guest MC Smallzy, with a further line-up announcement due in the near future.
The 2015 Amplify festival will hit Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth during the April school holidays, being held on the 7th, 9th, 10th and 12th of the month in those cities, respectively.
"This tour … further highlight[s] the huge demand for live events in the new media space, and gives these already highly connected artists an outlet to reach an audience that would not ordinarily be able to meet them," festival co-creators Tom Maynard and Haydan Parker said in a statement.
