Triple J Talent To Judge WAM Song Of The Year; Awards Party Announced

The annual WAM Song Of The Year competition has named the third and final round of judges for 2016, seeing triple j, Double J and revered label personalities join an already impressive list.

A WAM regular, triple j’s Nick Findlay has signed on after being a speaker at last year’s WAM Festival and is joined by colleague Dom Alessio, Double J representatives Dorothy Markek and Jacinta Parsons as well as Alexis Courtin of Parenthesis Records, Michael Szumowski of Alberts.

They join other renowned industry identities such as Birds Of Tokyo drummer Adam Weston and Eskimo Joe drummer Joel Quartermain, alongside Chris Cobcroft (RZZZ), Damian Cunningham (Live Music Office) Stephen Goodhew, (FBi Radio), theMusic's own Daniel Cribb and Kane Sutton and more.

The judge additions also come with a confirmed awards party date, which will be held on Saturday 9 April and will once again take place at B Shed Warehouse.

Entries closed on Thursday 28 January and saw a 9% increase from last year with more than 360 acts entering.
