US vlogger Rob Scallon is here to rock you hard, in a pretty gentle way

More Slayer More Slayer

Wait! No! Come back! Look, we know that ukuleles are kind of the hipster douchebag's instrument of choice right now, but that doesn't mean there aren't some incredible exceptions to the rule – and for proof, you need look no further than US musician and vlogger Rob Scallon.

Scallon, a multi-instrumentalist who kind of makes a habit of this sort of thing, has shot to wider 'net prominence over the past few days for his recently uploaded version of Slayer's War Ensemble, which faithfully recreates the band's blisteringly quick shredding style that we all know and love, replete with face-melting solo action, all on his humble little four-string mini-'tar – his slaykelele, if you will – while still keeping intact the track's bass and drum lines – and thus, curiously for a ukulele cover, its base drive and aggression.

... We know, right? God damn, that is some crazy uke-ing.
