A lyric cocktail of obsession and ego

Steadfast on channelling ‘90s rock with less denim, newly borne Perth outfit The Plastic Attraction are set to release their first song, Holding You, which explodes with lovelorn angst and production efforts from a selection of indie-rock dons.

Released by A&R Records on August 26, The Plastic Attraction’s debut single anthemically dones with arid guitars about a begrudging narrative of boy meets girl.

Conceived by a group of highschool mates who finally got themselves together, The Plastic Attraction released Holding You after building up a base of demos and pub gigs.

Their first single enlists the sonic talents of post-production gurus Andy Lawson (Tired Lion, Eskimo Joe) and Leon Zervos (Boy & Bear, Art vs Science, Last Dinosaurs) to mix and master Holding You’s verbatim verses. Both Lawson and Zervos lend the band’s airy high-fidelity sound to bring forward stressed-out vocal harmonies against a ruff-and-tumble of riff heavy choruses.
