The writing may have been on the wall for a while now, but that doesn't mean it's not sad to see this band go.

The Butterfly Effect, one of our country's better rock bands, has announced that they're closing up shop, but not before they give one final gift to their fans.

The four faces behind the slick alternative rock jams like 'Always' & 'Reach'  - Kurt Goedhart, Ben Hall, Clint Boge and Glenn Esmond - will be releasing their entire back catalogue on vinyl for the first time. You can pre-order the vinyl copies from the band's website here. So if you never got around to checking out their three Gold-certified albums, well now might be the best time to do so!

The band's drummer, Ben Hall, had this to say about the band's announcement:

“While we are sad to acknowledge the end of an era for us, we recognise this is not a huge surprise to fans and we decided the time had come to provide a proper send-off to the project. Our hiatus was supposed to be three months, but the desire to move into another phase never returned. For years now, fans have been asking us to put the records on vinyl and we decided that now was a good time to do just that and ensure as the Butters exit, those who have supported us from the beginning are left with the best version of those records. We are incredibly proud of those albums and we want to stand tall with them as our legacy.”

On top of all that, to help forever immortalise their life's work as they put the band and a massive piece of their lives to rest, the group has set up an official YouTube account. This account has their music videos, singles and a whole host of other content filmed over the years to be found on it. Long time fans need only give it a look to get a severe case of nostalgia, and any and all newcomers can kick themselves hard for missing out on an iconic Aussie band.

Since forming in 1999 and their last tour in 2014, The Butterfly Effect has been on an indefinite hiatus but they've been rather coy about their active status. Well, now we have the nail in the coffin and I for one am rather bummed out to see these dudes go. But like their grand career and a really good Maxibon, all good things must come to an end, sadly.

Finally, here's another classic banger for you all.
