The AudreysThere's no banjo on the new album from The Audreys because, according to the core duo, Mumford & Sons have ruined it for everyone.
Speaking to theMusic.com.au the band's Tasha Coates and Tristan Goodall said it was time to step away from the banjo on new album 'Til My Tears Roll Away.
“It was a conscious decision to have no banjo,” Goodall said, laughing.
“Yeah,” Coates agreed, “and I blame Mumford & Suns entirely for that.”
“They just ruined banjo for me now, and a lot of other stuff… like music in general,” Goodall teased. “Lovely guys, I'm sure.”

“We are really good at making music that's least popular [at] the time that we make it,” Coates adds. “We started playing roots music when roots music was having a bit of a resurgence, so now we've stopped when it's become particularly popular. We're probably the people to ask where the zeitgeist is going because we'll be going in the opposite direction.
