Australia's answer to Skins has been nomination in the Webby Awards' Television Websites category.

Australian teen drama SLiDE, often referred to as our answer to Skins, has been nominated for a Webby Award - the pioneering internet awards.

The show, which screened on Fox 8 last year, has been nominated in the Television Websites category and lines up against heavyweight American networks, platforms and programs - HBO Connect, PBS.tv, AndersonCooper.com and Hulu.

The SLiDE website featured extra content including videos that further developed characters and storylines, and encouraged interaction with viewers.

The show itself was deemed a success for the pay-TV network, as it followed the lives of Australian teenagers around Brisbane. In one episode a character went to the office of theMusic.com.au's sister Brisbane street press Time Off in an attempt to get an internship as a music journo.
