Rennie Pilgrem Will Bring His Nu Jungle to Australia.
Over the years Rennie Pilgrem has been at the heart of the breakbeat scene and is currently enjoying being involved in what is becoming one of the freshest-growing genres in dance, future jungle (aka nu jungle, jungle breaks, 140). Australia can discover this musical hybrid when he visits our shores this July playing in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth as well as aiding the masses in a retrospective history of breaks tour.
Future jungle bridges the gap between dub step, drum'n'bass and breakbeat and is attracting the attention of producers from an array of camps to create something unique but with the spirit of rave and jungle in the midst of his breakbeat greatness.
Rennie Pilgrem's new single Defy (featuring Francesca Guarino) has soaring vocals, soulful keyboards, luscious strings and fat bass with some awesome jazz drumming make for what could well be a summer anthem. Defy is taken from a milestone release The Best Of Rennie Pilgrem, which is namely an anthology of some of his best work and some genuine classics from the breakbeat scene.
