Well, psyche rock is usually best experienced in the live setting or through vinyl.
Melbourne's Pretty City, the slick psychedelic rock band you wish you heard of before now, have kicked off their tour for their debut LP/vinyl, 'Colorize'.
The fuzzy, hazy, "shoegrunge" band's 11-track full-length is the best soundtrack for a low-key acid trip (remember to trip responsibly, folks). But seriously, if the record's first song 'Melt' doesn't peak your interest, then nothing ever will!
Defending their decision to use vinyl as their audible format of choice for the release, the Victorian trio states that it's because of the format's "dark, sticky flavour" to its sonic quality. Yeah, I can gel with that, guys.
"There's got to be a reason Madonna says 'Hey Mr DJ put a RECORD on I wanna dance with my baby'. And here it is: Digital is instant coffee music: you mostly eat it with a spoon rushing out the door. It does ok, however, Vinyl has that dark, sticky flavour. It melts your face and caresses your soul at the same time. Who wouldn't sign up for that?"
Well, probably people who don't have a turntable and who have low spending budgets? But whatever! Kicking off tonight at Crown & Anchor in Adelaide, the band have a couple tour dates left over the next week. You can pick up your tickets straight from the band here:
