Courtney Barnett, maybe you should apply

It seems that before President Obama leaves the White House, he's having the most fun humanly possible with his time. Having delivered a keynote alongside the FLOTUS at this year's SXSW, it looks like the President loved the experience so much he's hosting his own mini-SXSW in the White House's backyard.

As NPR reports, the one-day event will be held in collaboration with SXSW and will be called South By South Lawn, featuring all three elements of the traditional SXSW: interactive, film and music.

The White House state it "will bring together creators, innovators, and organizers who work day in and day out to improve the lives of their fellow Americans and people around the world", featuring panels, short films and live performances. Perhaps the music-loving President will even call on Courtney Barnett to perform, whom he included in his summer playlist alongside Leon Bridges, Chance The Rapper and The Beach Boys.

The White House are currently taking submissions to play the 3 October event here.
