“Just become an active band again!!”
In the spirit of the festive season, Aussie music icons Powderfinger have launched a new website to give fans a comprehensive look at their career; an activity that has many pleading with the band on social media for a reunion.
Earlier today, Powderfinger.com went live, tagged as “a living, breathing museum” that details the band’s history, what Bernard Fanning, Darren Middleton and co are up to now as well as an in-depth gig history and tales on each release.
Although noting on numerous occasion they are “no longer an active band”, breaking up in 2010, the website launch has resulted in renewed hope among many fans that their Queensland idols may perhaps record new music or tour again.
“My all time favourite band, you guys should get together for another tour you know it would sell out,” one fan said on Facebook.

“Just become an active band again!!” commented another.
Powderfinger’s seventh and final record, Golden Rule, dropped in 2009 following a string of wildly success releases and tours since their formation in ’89, with Odyssey Number Five scoring six ARIA awards at the height of the band’s career.
The Music reached out to the band for comment on the prospect of reunion shows to no avail, but perhaps the outcry from fans will ignite a conversation among the band and lead to a grand return.
