Midweek chart figures suggest Pink will hold the top spot
Pink is expected to hold onto the top spot of the ARIA Album Chart this week, with the adopted Australian's new album The Truth About Love proving to be the one constant in a volatile month for the rankings.
It's not to say that there'll be plenty of upheaval at the pointy end, with No Doubt's Push And Shove, Green Day's ¡Uno!, Mumford & Sons' Babel, Deadmau5's Album Title Goes Here, Illy's Bring It Back and Ben Fold Five's The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind all going to debut in the charts this week. According to midweek figures, each of those albums is tracking well but none seem on target to knock Pink off the perch.
The strength of debuts this week means it's going to be tough for local releases to get a look in. The Rubens' admirable debut at three this week is almost certainly not going to last and Seth Sentry's This Was Tomorrow, which managed six, will be forced down a few notches as well. Illy's debut will look to be the top local entry and will fight The Sapphires soundtrack (a boost expected after Jessica Mauboy won two Deadlys), Parklife-bound The Presets' Pacifica and the staying power of Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson's Wreck & Ruin.
The singles chart is getting tighter as well, with the viral hit Psy's Gangnam Style shooting to two last week behind Guy Sebastian and Lupe Fiasco's Battle Scars and above Birdy's Bon Iver cover Skinny Love. No surprises that at the midweek point it's too hard to call between these three.

The figures are also showing a bit of a run for The Script's Hall Of Fame, which will get a boost towards the end of the week with the band currently in Australia and recently announcing a tour for 2013.
