December 19 will see Sydney independent imprint launch ‘Teen Idols: a Future Classic Compilation’ – 12 of their favourite tracks from the last year.
You were kind to Future Classic in 2014, so they’ve decided to be kind in return. December 19 will see the Sydney independent imprint launch ‘Teen Idols’, a compilation of 12 of their favourite tracks from the last twelve months.
For those of you who weren’t paying attention, this year was huge for FC. 2014 saw Seekae release their first vocal record and Flight Faciltiies drop a surprise debut album on the label. Rostered artists Flume and Jagwar Ma made their first appearances at Coachella. Chet Faker won no less than an impressive five – count ‘em, five – ARIA awards for his #1 album.
They programmed a stage at Laneway Festival, threw a party at Vivid Festival and showcased at SXSW and Bigsound.
‘Teen Idols: a Future Classic Compilation’ will be a snapshot all of those accomplishments for the little label doing big things, in addition to showing off new tracks from Hayden James, Touch Sensitive and 123Mrk.
It’s available for preorder now via iTunes. HWLS, Basenji and Cashmere Cat all appear on the tracklist, alongside acts like Wave Racer and George Maple.

The title track by Touch Sensitive (one of the first artists ever to sign to the label) is available for instant download. It’s expertly realized, unadulterated bubblegum disco with hints of house soaking through over muted Doo Wop hooks.
