New Prince Material Leaked Online

A mysterious tweeter has leaked a bunch of what appears to be unreleased Prince material, including a new song.

More Prince More Prince

The operator of a twitter account by the name of 3rd Eye Girl has, in the past 24 hours, leaked four Prince songs onto YouTube including a brand new track and alternate versions of a few that have already been released. The account was first brought to the attention of the greater World Wide Web by funk blog Dr Funkenberry and quickly picked up by American music news site Antiquiet yesterday afternoon, Australian time.

While nothing is known about the identity of the person behind the account, their most recent tweet seems to suggest they might not have permission to release these songs from Prince himself, who is likely to get very cross indeed should these songs not be meant for the general public. This is a guy who once compared the internet to a carjacking.

But then again, could this be a mere impersonation of our funky friend? If it is, it's a mighty good one. The new song is listed under the name Same Page Different Book and it sounds decidedly like a Prince song.

A remix of his latest song Rock N Roll Love Affair is another of the songs leaked.

Here is a lengthy version of Laydown, the secret track from Prince's most recent record, 2010's 20Ten.

And finally, here is a live rehearsal video of Bambi from Prince's 1979 debut for those who feel like hearing a little shredding.
