"There's a real peace in knowing now is the right time."

Sydney pop rockers New Empire have decided it call it quits, announcing the band's break-up in a statement posted to the boys' Facebook yesterday afternoon.

Though they don't cite a particular reason for the split, lead vocalist Jeremy Fowler explains in the statement: "This decision has not come lightly, and honestly there has been many times when I was fighting it and didn’t want to close this chapter — but there's a real peace in knowing now is the right time.

"After releasing our most recent record In A Breath, it felt like a completion of a season. We are able to celebrate what was, and also know it's time to move onto the next adventure in life."

Coinciding with the announcement, the band have also revealed their last tour, aptly titled The Final Tour "as a final celebration in Australia and New Zealand". The five-date tour will head to Auckland, Adelaide's Fowlers Live, Melbourne's Toff In Town, Brisbane's Old Museum Concert Hall and Sydney's Factory Theatre through the course of October this year.
