The outspoken filmmaker and political pundit revealed the new film on Twitter
Firebrand documentary maker Michael Moore has announced the release of a surprise film about Donald Trump. TrumpLand will be premiered at a free screening in New York later today before it goes on general release.
The 62-year-old Oscar-winning filmmaker has spent his career chronicling the cultural calamities of the American zeitgeist in such films as Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) which investigated the validity of George W. Bush’s war on terror and Bowling For Columbine (2002) which looked at the causes of the Columbine High School massacre and gun control.

News of the unexpected Trump doco dropped on Twitter with a tantalising glimpse of Moore in the cutting room editing the film. The official description, published this morning, reads: “See the film Ohio Republicans tried to shut down. Michael Moore dives right into hostile territory with his daring and hilarious one-man show, deep in the heart of TrumpLand in the weeks before the 2016 election.” Given that all things Trump have the world transfixed in the run up to the American Presidential election, it's likely to be another international hit for Moore.
