The renowned European outfit return to the fore in April
Operatic Danish indie-rockers Mew will release their first album in more than five years this April under the title +-, the band has revealed.
Due to drop internationally on 27 April ahead of Mew's European tour in May, +- is the first new full-length work from the band since 2009's widely acclaimed but wordily titled No More Stories Are Told Today, I'm Sorry They Washed Away // No More Stories, The World Is Grey, I'm Tired, Let's Wash Away — affectionately known as No More Stories, for obvious reasons, though not to be confused with the No More Stories EP of the same year. Additionally, when searching for the album on iTunes, be wary of accidentally ending up with US laptop-pop crew +/- (and especially their self-titled album). This is the one you want:
With that confusion out of the way, the band have also unveiled the first taste from their eagerly awaited new work, titled Satellites. As par for the Mew course since at least 2003's Frengers, it's all ethereal atmosphere and soaring upper-register vocals and shifting pace and vibes... but, then again, if you've been on the Mew train for that long, that news is probably the opposite of a problem.
