Bring along your most prized music memorabilia
Bring out that box under your bed: a research project taking place in Melbourne is offering fans of the cities music scene the chance to become a part of history at this weekend's Retro Recall: Rock And Pop In Melbourne event.
With the support of the City of Melbourne, researchers from RMIT and Monash University are teaming up to document Melbourne's music activity over the last 50 years and will hold a fan event day this Saturday, 25 February to help capture memories and memorabilia.
Monash Associate Professor Shane Homan and RMIT’s Dr Catherine Strong are inviting music fans to bring their favourite piece of memorabilia to the event and talk to the research team about what the item means to them.
Photographs of the items and audio recordings of fan's memories will be archived online, made accessible to researchers, policy makers and the music community, and will also be published in a book.
