9 April 2015 | 1:07 pm | Staff Writer

The annual mecca of funny people takes its show on the road to Gold Coast's Art Centre this May

This year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival is a few days shy of entering its final week, and thus is turning its attention to its encore roadshow series, with the announcement of the comedic cast heading to the Gold Coast being made this week.

The roadshow will roll through the beachside Queensland city on Friday, 15 May, when it takes over The Arts Centre Gold Coast with master of ceremonies Adam Rozenbachs leading the charge of comedians making the jaunt north to spread the giggles around the country.

Joining Rozenbachs will be up-and-coming Aussie stand-up Anne Edmonds, award-nominated Canadian comic DeAnne Smith, Venezuelan drawcard Ivan Aristeguieta, and in-demand local Nath Valvo for an evening of split sides and sore cheeks.

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival roadshow kicks off from 8pm on 15 May, with entertainment on The Arts Centre's terrace from 6pm. Tickets are available now on (07) 5588 4000 or via the venue's website.
