Matthew Herbert To Release The End Of Silence In June

It's an intriguing concept for a record, let us tell you.

More Matthew Herbert Matthew Herbert

Pioneering electronic musician Matthew Herbert is back on our radar today as news comes through that he has a new work being released in a couple of months' time.

Never one to be all that conventional, Herbert has taken a ten second sound recording of a war photographer by the name of Sebastian Meyer being bombed by a Gadaffi war plane in Libya and turned it into a full record, which he is calling The End Of Silence.

Released on Herbert's own label Accidental, it is split into three separate parts and sees Herbert joining up with creative collaborators Yann Seznec, Tom Skinner, Sam Beste. It is an intriguing piece of work born from a frightening piece of aural history.

The LP will be released on Monday 24 June.
