'Wolves' made its debut at West's fashion-line launch with Adidas
Conveniently ubiquitous controversial figure of the moment Kanye West has been a busy man this week.
When he hasn't been raising the ire of ageing rock musicians, he's been preparing for the release of his new line of Adidas shoes — the Yeezy 750 Boost — which he celebrated with a fashion show in New York City overnight (AEST). And what better way to celebrate some new Kanye West shoes than with some new Kanye West tunes, in this case his new collaboration with Sia and recent visitor Down Under Vic Mensa? (No better way, that's what.)
So it was that faithful fashionistas were treated to the premiere airing of Wolves, produced by Cashmere Cat, which now marks the third taster from West's eagerly awaited follow-up to 2014's acclaimed Yeezus. It was preceded by two collaborations with Paul McCartney — Only One and FourFiveSeconds, which also featured Rihanna.
The album is still mostly an abstract concept, at least for those who aren't Kanye, with no release date or title or further track list details to speak of — but, luckily for us, a particularly on-the-ball punter at the Adidas launch had the presence of mind to record the track for the pleasure of everyone. The quality's not amazing, but hey — you get what you pay for. Check it out below.
