James Blake officially releases cover of Frank Ocean's 'Godspeed'

After a performance of the cover on IGTV and going viral on TikTok as a result, James Blake has now given his rendition of Frank Ocean's 'Godspeed' an official release. The cover, released alongside a simple music video directed by Ryder Ripps and starring a now-blonde haired Blake,  is one of many covers the British artist has been sharing on social media this year. He first covered 'Godspeed' back in January, and is particularly beautiful given Blake's own involvement in writing the song.

In a caption for the original cover earlier this year, James Blake wrote, "New decades resolution was to spend more time at my instrument than at a laptop. So here’s a cover I play of a song I helped write - Godspeed by Frank Ocean. I think I messed up a lyric near the beginning but hey, none of these are gonna be perfect."
