"We have had our sights set on a SongHubs New York for some time."

APRA AMCOS have today announced their first-ever New York City Songhubs event.

The multi-day intensive songwriting program will take place this Sunday in Brooklyn and has been curated by Australian producer and songwriter François Tétaz, who picked up two Grammys alongside Gotye for Making Mirrors and Somebody I Used To Know.

"I’m thrilled to be curating APRA AMCOS' first SongHubs in New York," shares Tétaz. "From an abundance of applicants, I’ve brought together a group of diverse, talented artists from all over the world to collaborate on new music in the studio. I’m very excited to hear what they all make together."

Songhubs is taking place during an important week for Australian music in New York, with Indie Week showcases currently running and Sounds Australia making their Central Park debut with their Aussie BBQ event this weekend.

"We have had our sights set on a SongHubs New York for some time, so it's very meaningful to host our first SongHubs in the city during a week where Australian music is in the spotlight," shares APRA AMCOS Director Member Relations' Milly Petriella.

International special guests for the sessions are producers Clams Casino (who has worked with fka Twigs and Vince Staples) and Damian Taylor, who is best known for his work with Björk, The Killers and Arcade Fire, while Kimbra, Urthboy, Tkay Maidza and San Cisco will appear as special guests.
