What you gonna do when they come for you?

It's been 12 years since the last installment of the mega popular action-comedy franchise Bad Boys and the much talked about third film may be closer than it ever has been before.

According to Deadline Joe Carnahan, most known for his work in The Grey and The A Team is in talks to direct the film, with a draft script already written and ready to go.

Both lead stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are expected to reprise their roles as the narcotics detectives and it is hoped the turnaround of the new film will be a quick process so Smith can jump straight back into Bad Boys once he is completed filming his current movie, Suicide Squad.

Interestingly, the previous director of the first two films, Michael Bay is not attached to the new movie, but it may be due to his current commitments with the Transformers franchise.

The first two Bad Boys films made a combined gross of near $415 million dollars at the box office, so it is no wonder the higher ups at Sony want to get a move on with the new installment.
