Infamous '80s House Music Parties To Make Comeback

The second summer of love is back.

The infamous - and some who were there may say 'gamechanging' - house music parties of the '80s Bacchanalia are making a comeback.

Alongside the likes of Rat, Sweatbox and Fun, the parties introduced house into the Australian dance scene as disco was fading. Bacchanalia in particular is remembered for its 17 parties at the Hordern Pavilion.

Today it has been announced that the original producer and DJ at the events, Paul Holden, will be leading the way for a one-off special return night at the Imperial Hotel Saturday 7 July. Playing vinyl records (he never had to point that out during the hey-day) he'll be spinning hip-house, acid house, Chicago and Euro-house all night long.

Today's announcement reads, "Don't miss this opportunity to relive the magic that was a Hordern party, (if you were there), or come and hear what all the fuss was about at this special event one-off and hear the sounds that were the foundation stones for todays' dance music as we now know it."
