Indigenous Talent To Be Showcased Across WA In October With New Touring Series

"A great tool to use to assist in combatting the ignorance and anti-social behaviour of many young people."

Kimberley artist Mary G has unveiled a new touring showcase for this October, shining a spotlight on indigenous talent from Australia’s far North-West.

Shows on the Kimberley Showcase West Australian State Tour will run for two-and-a-half hours, celebrating indigenous culture through comedy, storytelling and music with Mary G, the onstage persona of Dr Mark Bin Bakar, joined by John Albert, Yatangal and John Bennett at 10 Shows.

“I see an important role for Mary G as a voice for the empowerment of our people through self-esteem, education and awareness of issues,” Bakar said.

“Mary G is a great tool to use to assist in combatting the ignorance and anti-social behaviour of many young people.”

The three-week tour kick off at Matt Dann Centre, Port Hedland on Oct 11 before taking in other regional towns and wrapping with shows in Fremantle and Perth.

Head to the Kimberley Showcase Facebook page for all the details.
