"...unlike anything we’ve ever seen before."

Iconic funk and soul independent record label Daptone Records has been overwhelmed with record and merchandise orders for Sharon Jones, following the music legend’s untimely death last month.

Label co-founder Gabriel Roth revealed that the volume of orders has been "unlike anything we’ve ever seen before".

"We've actually had to cancel recording sessions because our little house in Bushwick has been so overly jammed with outgoing packages full of records and merchandise that you can't walk into the studio," Roth said in a statement.

Daptone Records is arguably most well known for having Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings on its roster, with all of the band's works released through the label.

Jones died at the age of 60 after battling pancreatic cancer.

"I continue to be in awe of the amount of love, respect, and support that I am seeing, both for Sharon and for each other," Roth said.

"In this time of tragic loss, this is what's getting us through.

"Not just getting us through, but inspiring us to continue to do more.  Our friend Sharon has always been at the heart of Daptone and always will be. I am so grateful to her and to all of you for putting your hearts into all of this in so many ways.

"As Sharon always told us, 'What comes from the heart, reaches the heart.'"

A memorial service will be held for Jones in Brooklyn this Wednesday and in her hometown of Augusta, Georgia, this Saturday.
