Ian Watkins sentenced to 35 years behind bars

Disgraced musician Ian Watkins has received 35 years in prison for his role in an attempted child rape case.

Disgraced musician Ian Watkins has received 35 years in prison for his role in an attempted child rape case.

Watkins pleaded guilty to the abhorrent crimes last month, with the singer sentenced this week.

Walesonline.co.uk reports:

"A judge told him [Watkins] he had "plumbed new depths of depravity" before jailing him.

He was sentenced after a series of further revelations revealed Watkins' behaviour to be even more depraved and bizarre than was already known.

With Watkins visibly shaking, the judge told him his actions, as well as that of his two female co-defendants, "defied belief".

The investigation still remains open, with suspicions Watkins could be implicit in other similar activities.

Additionally, a 13-page court document surfaced shortly after the sentencing outlining the shocking sequence of events. You can read extracts from the document, which can only be described as unsettling and inexcusable, here.
