You should definitely enter this.

Are you an audio engineer and want to learn from the best? Now's your chance because Studios 301 and The Music want to give you a place in the first-ever 301 Academy

Created by 301 owner and SAE founder Tom Misner, the Academy aims to "to bridge the gap between the completion of a tertiary audio degree or diploma, and working as a full-time audio engineer".

“I created the Studios 301 Academy to give upcoming engineers an all practical experience working from Australia’s only top-tier studio," Misner said. "Taking people out of their classroom environment and putting them in one of the world’s best studios with real working engineers is invaluable experience you can only get at 301.”

The 12 participants will have the opportunity to work with some of Australia's best including Grammy-nominated engineer Simon Cohen (Justin Bieber, Katy Perry), former Sony and Universal Music A&R Director Peter Karpin and chief mastering engineer Steve Smart (Midnight Oil, Vance Joy, Tash Sultana).

The experience is valued at $5,500 and its participants follow an end-to-end lifecycle of a real project including pre-production, recording, mixing, mastering and music business workshops.

The course kicks off on Monday 19 August and is made up of night and weekend recording sessions. To be eligible to enter, you must have advanced understanding of audio engineering or equivalent audio engineering qualification.
