It's scored itself a Rose d'Or

Congrats are in order for ABC show Gruen Sweat, with the show winning the coveted Rose d'Or award for Best Entertainment Program.

The Rose d'Or awards (held in Brussels) are considered one of the premiere global television honours so this is a pretty big deal for the The Gruen Transfer spinoff. The show aired in four parts throughout the 2012 London Summer Olympics, with Wil Anderson as the host and his two regular panelists of Todd Sampson and Russel Howcroft.

According to Mumbrella, co-creator Jon Casimir said the win was a tribute to all those involved in the making and viewing of the show.

“Obviously, nothing can make up for the pain of missing out on a Logie, but this will go a long way towards it.”

“We are looking forward to bringing The Checkout back next year," he told Mumbrella just as the first season of the show finished up last night.

The Checkout is a co-production between CJZ, The Chaser's company Giant Dwarf and the ABC. The show has been a ratings success for the network and was one of our recommendations for the top five shows you should be watching.
