It will punch people in the face, says creator
It's been creating a heap of buzz in the states, now it's time for Australian televisions to get the gritty and raw news magazine series VICE.
The show is based around the magazine and media company of the same name, which was co-founded by journalist and entrepreneur Shane Smith. The series doesn't sugarcoat a thing, with its unique, behind the news style approach on some of the most shocking and dangerous stories in the world.
If you haven't heard of the show as yet, you may recall the fuss made a few months back regarding former NBA star Dennis Rodman's controversial trip to North Korea where he met with Kim Jong-un - this was the focus of an episode of VICE. Other eps cover everything from political assassinations in the Philippines to tensions on the India-Pakistan border.
As Smith says in the show's trailer, "what you're going to see on VICE is not going to be sanitised, it'll punch people in the face." VICE will premiere on Fox8 on Wednesday 19 June at 9.30pm.
