Fourth Death Confirmed From SXSW Car Crash

A teenage victim has been named

Another fatality from the tragic SXSW car crash has been confirmed by the Austin Police Department.

DeAndre Tatum was confirmed as the fourth death to result from the incident, it was revealed on the Austin Police Department's Twitter overnight (via Pitchfork). Tatum was said to be only 18 years-old and had been in a critical condition since the Thursday 13 March crash, according to KXAN.

The crash also claimed the lives of 35-year-old Steven Craenmehr, 27-year-old Jamie Ranae West and 26-year-old Sandy Le. The driver of the car that crashed into the crowd outside The Mohawk venue, Rashad Owens - an emerging rapper - has been charged with capital murder. It is alleged that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
