Fall Out Boy began signalling their return at the beginning of December by taking out a full-page advertisement in The Chicago Tribune newspaper, with "FOB8" - teasing their eighth album - and the phrase "if you build it, they will come" printed.

Since then, the This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race group sent out postcards to fans on their mailing list, which sent them to this URL. In a Christmas gift to fans, Fall Out Boy kept up the teasing with a claymation celebration by Mr Oz - known for his work in Marvel’s Venomverse.

In mid-January, Fall Out Boy announced the release date of their eighth album, So Much (For) Stardust, the arrival of a new single, Love From The Other Side and the announcement that they re-signed with Fueled By Ramen/Elektra.

Love From The Other Side found Fall Out Boy fully embracing rock music again. There are energetic guitars, drums, bass, and fully-charged vocals from Patrick Stump. The good news is that it doesn't feel watered-down or phoned in; it's a genuinely exciting rock song from the American band in 2023.

A week later, they released a second single; Heartbreak Feels So Good.

So Much (For) Stardust was produced by Neal Avron, who the band worked with on the beloved holy trinity of 2000s-emo: From Under The Cork Tree, Infinity On High, and Folie à Deux.

The new album will be distributed internationally by Fueled By Ramen/Elektra and by Warner Records in Australia. Their reunion with Fueled By Ramen/Elektra arrives 20 years after the band were connected with the label and released their 2003 debut album, Take This To Your Grave.
