“This track is an ode to not wanting to grow up. I swear that I don't feel a day over 18 and I'm pretty sure that my brain is going to stay that way forever. I just wanted to capture the feeling of the good life and remaining young at heart.”

BAGS PACKED

“In all honesty this track is about taking mushrooms. I was visiting my family, who live in Bali, and we ended up having a party at home. My mum gave us all a bunch of mushies and the rest is a bit of a blur. All I know is that I woke up and I had written this song. Seems to go alright. Haha. Somehow, in my tripped out state, I managed to subconsciously write it to be very ambiguous.”

SHE WANNA GET DOWN

“This one is just a song about having sex with someone you really wanna have sex with. Pretty simple.”

FIND YOUR FEET

“This one means quite a lot to me. I wanted to do a track about how I made something out of nothing that was relatable to anyone. The first verse is all about the battle to make it as a breakdancer despite the fact that people used to put me down for it and it wasn't so popular back then. Through all of the negativity around me - between people saying I would never do anything with it and people giving me shit for doing it - I actually managed to make a decent living out of it and accomplish a lot more than most people. The second verse is the same idea except about music. I guess the whole concept is once you find what it is that makes you happy just fucking go for it despite what people say about it. If it makes you happy, you love it enough and you work as hard as you can to be the best at it someone somewhere is going to want to pay you for it. Then you can do what you love for a living and never have to work a day in your life.”

DAY BY DAY

“This one pretty much sums me up. I'm a big believer in making the most of the time we have, YOLO! haha, so I wanted to try and inspire others to think the same. I don't really tend to plan much for the future but I do spend a lot of time doing things that make me happy. I don't know if that's the best way to live but I do know that we never really know how much time we have so we should make the most of right now. It's a very loose version of that concept but the general idea is there. It almost goes back to the Find Your Feet track a little. Like, fuck what everyone thinks and just do what you want and what makes you happy.”

BETTER MAN

Produced by M-Phazes

“This one means the most to me. After touring for close to two years with 360 I spent a lot of time partying, which didn't really stop when the tours did. This spiralled a little out of control and ultimately led to my girlfriend leaving me. It took that to wake me up and get my priorities in check. I wrote this song while we were broken up. Firstly because if something is ever affecting me in any way the only way to feel better is write about it. I also think that I may have subconsciously done it in an attempt to get her back. It's straight from the heart so it just spilled out onto the page. It's exactly what I was feeling at the time and I couldn't have written it any better. I wasn't too sure if I wanted to put myself out there so much in a vulnerable way, but it ended up making the cut and it's my favourite track on the EP.”

Bam Bam will be out on the road in support of the new EP real soon. Check out all of his upcoming dates in theGuide below.
