The venerated venue is lifting the curtain on its remodelled main room this week
Stalwart Perth live-music venue the Rosemount Hotel is readying itself for the big unveiling of its freshly remodelled main room, and theMusic.com.au is stoked to be able to provide our readers with a first look at the new digs today.
Punters farewelled the old circular bar space with two cracking shows — from Tash Sultana and local heroes POND — back in March before the space hunkered down to reinvigorate and totally reimagine the space.
The Rosemount's live room now features a newly built bar area, mezzanine viewing platforms, sweet little nooks in which to hang and some pretty darn spectacular wooden and iron ceiling beams, which have actually been a part of the bar for decades, but obscured from view.
The refurbishment also entailed the installation of a D&B V-series PA system to ensure the gig-going experience sounds as good as it looks.

The venue's manager, Larry Murray (pictured below with Cool Perth Nights director and dual Golden WAMI winner Andrew Ryan) enthused of the changes: "The Rosemount has undergone significant changes in the last six months. Our goal each time we remodel is to ensure patrons have the best experience possible in terms of great food, ease of service, friendly staff and a great view of the stage to enjoy some live music."
His sentiments were echoed by Ryan, who effused that the remodelled venue would help usher in a live music "renaissance the likes of which Perth has never seen".
"What excites me most is the optimal experience now offered to local, national and international musicians in the Rosemount main room," he said.
The room's first show will be this Thursday's annual Easter drum-and-bass shindig Roller.
