Mexican-American musician and satirist El Vez has announced a set of headline shows in Australia, in addition to his slot at the upcoming Falls Festival.

Taking inspiration from the hip-swayin' antics of Elvis and tying it together with political activism, humour and Mexican sauciness, El Vez will head to Melbourne for a heated Christmas Eve extravaganza (margaritas are mandatory).

He'll take Christmas off, then head to Sydney's Newtown Social for two shows on Saturday, 26 December and Sunday, 27 December, before digging himself into the ongoing New Years party that is Falls Fest (all three dates). Once he's done there, he'll play a show at Phillip Island's Westernport Hotel on Sunday, 3 January.
