Celebrated American Pie singer-songwriter Don McLean is returning to Australia for the first time in three years as part of the Bluesfest line-up and has now announced a string of sideshows.
The 70-year-old artist will play shows at Hobart's Wrest Point on 14 March, Melbourne's Hamer Hall on 16 March, Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre on 17 March, Canberra Theatre on 19 March, Sydney's State Theatre on 20 March, Brisbane's QPAC Concert Hall on 21 March, Cairns' Tanks Arts Centre on 23 March, Darwin's Playhouse Theatre on 27 March, and Perth's Riverside Theatre on 30 March.
Tickets for the Melbourne show go on sale from 17 December, while tickets to the Adelaide and Canberra performances go on sale from 14 December. Tickets for all remaining shows go on sale from 10am this Thursday.
One of contemporary music's greats and most enduring artists, McLean has been covered by Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey, Glen Campbell, Josh Groban, George Michael, Madonna, and even NOFX; he has also been honoured in the Songwriters and Grammy Hall of Fame.
